What it is for

A draught seal is chosen by its section, not by its length. A brush seal takes up a variable gap, a D-profile compresses against a fixed gap, and a P-profile folds over a narrow rebate — putting the wrong profile on a door is why a seal either stops the door closing or fails to stop the draught.

Measure the gap the door actually has, with the door closed, before choosing. Seals are supplied in 10 m coils because one door never takes a whole coil, and the carrier is cut with a knife rather than sawn.

Specification detail

0.5 m of seal in polypropylene, self-adhesive with a carrier that can be cut to length with a knife. Supplied on a release-paper roll; the adhesive needs a clean, dry frame and should not be stretched while it is being laid.
