A calliper is used to decide whether a part is in tolerance, so the number has to repeat: measure the same bore three times and you should get the same reading. The weak point on a cheap digital calliper is the scale, which starts to skip when the battery sags — check it against the zero before you trust it on a brake disc.
300 mm suits most workshop work: long enough to span a disc or a bearing race, short enough to reach into a recessed bore. The knurled thumb wheel and the locking screw matter more than the display, because they are what let you hold a measurement while you read it and write it down.
300 mm digital calliper in stainless steel, resolution 0.01 mm, with metric and imperial conversion, zero-set at any point and a locking screw. Measuring faces are ground flat and the jaws read outside, inside, step and depth; supplied in a moulded case.
Check the size and quantity against your own job first: most returns in this category come from ordering the wrong diameter, finish or pack size rather than from a fault. If you are unsure, send us a photo or a measurement and we will confirm which variant you need.
